NJROTC Welcome
Join Colleton County High School's NJROTC Program!!
Do you want to do something different? Stand out in a crowd? Be part of something bigger than yourself? Be challenged mentally and physically? Give back to your community? Learn how to lead others? Then you should become a member of Colleton County Naval Junior Officers Training Corps (NJROTC).
NJROTC is the premier citizenship and leader development program in the county. We are 100 cadets strong and have something for everyone! Our students have the opportunity to excel in ways other high school courses just can't provide. And we have fun while we're doing it! Our program offers armed drill, unarmed drill, color guard, drone team, orienteering and academics.
NJROTC is a regular class in the Colleton County High School curriculum. Monday, Wednesday and Fridays (unless we have an event to alter the schedule) are academic days. During these days, we teach leadership skills, civics/federal and state government, history, and discuss current events and matters impacting the military and our national security. Tuesdays are uniform days where all cadets must wear their issued NJROTC uniform and maintain good grooming standards. On uniform days cadets are inspected and given an oral general military knowledge quiz. Thursdays are physical fitness days. We encourage all cadets to maintain excellent physical fitness and teach them simple exercises they can do on a daily basis in order to improve their physical health.
If you are interested in becoming a part of this challenging and fun program, talk to your guidance counselor during course registration. And remember NJROTC fulfills physical education (PE - so you don't have to take PE if you take NJROTC), Career Technical Education (CTE) and elective graduation requirements.
WELCOME TO OUR UNIT!!
