Today, on National Instructional Coaches Day, we want to take a moment to celebrate two very special members of our Forest Family — Mrs. Sons and Dr. Hughes. 🌳✨
The work of an instructional coach often happens behind the scenes. It may look like a conversation in the hallway, a brainstorming session with a teacher, a classroom visit, a new idea shared, or simply being there when someone needs encouragement.
But the impact of that work reaches far beyond the moment.
Because when you help a teacher grow, you help an entire classroom grow.
When you encourage a teacher, you help them pour that encouragement into their students.
When you help make instruction stronger, you help create better opportunities for every Cougar Cub who walks through our doors. 📚🐾
Mrs. Sons and Dr. Hughes pour their time, knowledge, encouragement, and heart into our teachers each and every day. Their fingerprints can be seen in our classrooms, in the confidence of our teachers, and most importantly, in the learning and growth of our students. ❤️
Their impact may not always be easy to see, but it is felt — in the teacher who feels supported, in the student who discovers they can do something they once thought was impossible, and in the classrooms where learning comes alive.
Thank you, Mrs. Sons and Dr. Hughes, for believing in our teachers, believing in our students, and believing in what is possible at Forest Hills Elementary. 💙🤍
Happy National Instructional Coaches Day!
🐾 FHE appreciates you more than you know! 🐾

A HUGE shoutout to our Cougar Cubs and FHE families for making attendance a priority throughout the month of September! 💙🤍
Throughout Attendance Awareness Month, our district tracked attendance percentages for each school. After maintaining an attendance rate of approximately 95% throughout all four weeks of September, Forest Hills Elementary finished 1ST PLACE in the district with an incredible 96% attendance rate! 🏆👏
🥇 1st Place – FHE: 96%
🥈 2nd Place – HES: 96%
🥉 3rd Place – CES & NES: 94% TIE
This accomplishment belongs to EVERY Cougar Cub who showed up ready to learn and every parent/guardian who helped make getting to school each day a priority! Your consistency, commitment, and teamwork made this possible! 💪📚
🐾 CONGRATULATIONS, FHE! 🐾
But we aren't stopping here… 👀🔥
Let's keep this attendance momentum going! Every day counts, every Cub counts, and every day at school is another opportunity to learn, grow, and FLOURISH in the forest! 🌳💙
WAY TO GO, COUGAR CUBS! 🐾🏆

We are SO excited to announce the 2026–2027 Forest Hills Elementary Honors Choir! 🎤💙🤍
Before we celebrate our new Honors Choir members, we want to give a HUGE PAWSOME shout-out to EVERY Cougar Cub who auditioned! 🐾👏
Auditioning takes courage, confidence, preparation, and a willingness to step outside of your comfort zone. We are incredibly proud of every student who stood up, sang their song, and shared their voice with us! 🌟
Whether your name is on this year’s Honors Choir list or not, you should be proud of yourself for taking that brave step. Your hard work, courage, and willingness to try something new did not go unnoticed! 💙
👏 And to our parents and families—THANK YOU! Your support in helping your student prepare, encouraging them to audition, and making sure they were able to be here means so much. We couldn't make these opportunities happen without the support of our Forest Family! 💙🤍
I would also like to extend a huge thank you to Ms. Hanna, and Mr. Guarino for stepping in to sit on the panel for auditions!
And now… let's give a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our 2026–2027 Honors Choir members! 🎶🎉

🐾💙 BIG ATTENDANCE STRIDES, COUGAR CUBS! 💙🐾
We have some exciting attendance achievements to celebrate this week! 🎉🌟
👏 Wednesday & Thursday: Our Cougar Cubs reached an attendance rate of 96% or higher! This is the daily attendance goal we are working toward, and our Cubs are showing us that we can get there!
🎉 Another BIG shout-out: We had less than 20 students absent on BOTH Wednesday and Thursday! That is something worth celebrating! 🥳🐾
Thank you, families, for helping our students get to school each day and ready to learn. Every day in the classroom is another opportunity to grow, learn something new, and make progress!
📚 ATTENDANCE TIP #2: Give Yourself Extra Time in the Morning! ⏰
Build a few extra minutes into your morning routine so your Cougar Cub can arrive at school before 7:30 AM, settled and ready to learn. Arriving on time means they don't miss those important first minutes of instruction!
Keep making those BIG strides in attendance, Cougar Cubs! 🐾📚💙 Together, we can keep learning each and every day!
