On Monday, May 19, 2025, our Colleton County Middle School students, teachers and principal were recognized not only for their accomplishment of earning first place in Region 5 for the Math Nation Test Yourself Challenge, but also for earning 2nd place in the state of South Carolina! Here is some information that was shared with us before today’s surprise acknowledgement from Dr. Tiffany Arnold.

"GOOD MORNING, COLLETON COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL! 🎉 

I have just one word to start us off today: WOW.

I’m Dr. Tiffany Arnold, and I’m the Associate Director of Math Nation+ for the entire state of South Carolina — which means I get to travel all over our great state, meeting students and schools doing amazing things with math. 

And let me tell you something…
No one has done what YOU just did! 

This year, over 1,225 schools across South Carolina used Math Nation+. That’s right — middle and high schools all over our great Palmetto State logging in, on-ramping, watching videos, practicing, and of course testing themselves. 

But guess who rose to the top of Region 5? 

YOU DID. 🎉🏆 

Colleton County Middle School is officially the
South Carolina Region 5 Test Yourself! Challenge Champion!
Let’s hear it! 👏👏👏 

You beat out every other school in Berkeley, Dorchester, Charleston, Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton, AND yes, even your Colleton High School competitors. 

This region is stacked with talent — and you CCMS came out on top! 

You logged 4,272 high-scoring entries — that means each one was a 6 out of 10 or better.
That’s an average of four entries per student! You crushed it! 

Last year, your school had just over 500 passing entries.
This year? Over 4,000.
That is not just growth — that is a MATH EXPLOSION! 💥📈 

And your dedication didn’t just win Region 5…
It carried you all the way to SECOND PLACE IN THE ENTIRE STATE! 

Out of more than 1,200 schools, you were right at the top.
That’s not just impressive — that’s legendary. 🙌 

Now, to mark this amazing achievement, I’m here to present you with this shiny trophy:

Let’s give it up for your teachers, your coaches, and every single student who believed in themselves and did the work. 👏👏👏
